I was a little worried about my suitcase being over the 50 lbs limit (I'm clueless on what 50lbs feels like.) Before heading out to the airport, my hero, Tom, picked it up and said I should take out 5lbs. I dug in and started to take out some heavier items and shoved them into a new carry on. Then Tom proceeded to check the way a firefighter would do... you know....by bench pressing the suitcase! He said, "Yeah, I think its like 45 lbs." He was right on target at 45lbs at check in. You should've seen me trying to maneuver three bags in the airport with a backpack on board. I think it may have been an amusing site to see. Things got better when I found a bar with some Austin music... Love me Willie covers. I've gotten into the habit of throwing some love $$ to the musicians... it was my way of also saying goodbye to Texas music for a couple weeks. Since I was was like two hours early, I thought I had all the time in the world (I'm never early to the airport.) But no! As I'm heading to my gate I hear, "Looking for Shelly Haines. Will Shelly Haines please come to gate 12. This is your last call." I told Kim (was on the phone) Oh crap...they're calling me... gotta go! Of course I couldn't complain about the "middle seat," but I knew I would be ruining someone's "yes... no one next to me plan"... so I convinced them I'm good company because I have drink tickets. I bought my seatmate, Joe, a whiskey. I also got to meet Millie the cocker spaniel who flew like a champ from Austin to Fort Lauderdale.
Kim picked me up from the Fort Lauderdale airport and we went to her place to check our Amazon donations and do a count. Saw this cool guitar at the Hard Rock Semiole (native tribe of Florida) on the way.
We will be hauling four bags! I'm overwhelmed with gratitude right now.
We have about 25 dewormer medicine packs.
We have about 45 dog collars and 20 leashes!
Several mange dips, and medicated shampoos.
More to come....thank you for reading.
May the paws be with you. ~xoxo, Shelly, Kai & Kim
