Cynthia Cazanas Garin - Filmmaker & Cuban resident.

Cynthia Cazanas is a Cuban resident who is trying to raise awareness to help better the life of strays in Cuba. For a real dose of reality on why this is important, please check out her interview or short documentary (warning: might be hard to watch) where The Spanky Project is mentioned.

Without spay/neuter options there will be countless homeless suffering animals. There are no animal shelters, animal welfare laws, or animal control. Obtaining resources is incredibly challenging. The Spanky Project holds a large free spay/neuter clinic in Havana twice a year, were they perform about 300 surgeries over the course of 5 days. They are training vets on small animal medicine, educating the people, and getting animal welfare on the government's agenda.

On the how you can help page, you can make statement by helping Kai’s paw compadres through the Spanky Project.
